DOES BUSINESS AND FRIENDSHIP WORK?

My 'sharp on numbers' mom says there are no emotions in business, and I gulp to that idea or mindset because I'm both passionate and sensitive to people. There wouldn't be a business structure if I wasn't an artist who feels it all.

The reality is that I've been disappointed by people I held so close to my heart.

So, I hated returning to my mother nodding in approval. "You were right."

BUT! That's life.

There is heartbreak in friendships, intimate relationships, AND business. These are called expectations: nothing less, nothing more.

To give you a personal perspective: Sara came into my life when I promised myself I'd never mix friendship and working together.

It was freakin' hard to bounce back to a woman whose heart is pure gold.

On our first meeting, she held my hand, and we prayed together.

-Wait, what? We're supposed to talk numbers.

I'd take a spontaneous trip to Romania, and she would look me dead in the eye. "Bro, I got you.", in her Colombian accent.

She and her husband, Miguel, are the troopers and the angels I needed to feel at peace again.

So this is a long story, but it comes to a short and simple truth: Thank you.

Thank you for waking up so early to show up like it's showtime.

Thank you for your honesty, work ethic, and loyalty.

Thank you for healing a part I didn't think I could open up again.

To my mother, I wish there were no emotions in business, but we're humans, and I cannot change that.

To myself: You're doing your best and that makes you a winner.

How do you overcome challenges in relationships related to business?
